Lower dose estradiol vaginal cream 0.003 applied three times in a week is an effective and well tolerated treatment for dyspareunia due to vulvovaginal atrophy according to results of a phase III trial published online September 18 2017 in the journal Menopause. vulvovaginal irritation and itching and dryness also improved.
